I got this email from UCR today. Is this a guaranteed rescind?

I was just wondering but do freshman get to pick the professors that they want?

@tooblueforyou26 Don’t think so, just the classes at orientation.

UPDATE
I received a call from my councilor 3 days ago and he told me that after reviewing my transcripts, scores, etc., he has decided to not rescind my admission because of receiving a ‘D’ (:

@pandalambo Oh wow they’re already making decisions? This is making me nervous even though I got the grade made up haha, do you have Lopez? Congrats by the way! Also when did you submit your transcript?

@hiddendragon11 Yeah I have Lopez! My school was on top of sending transcripts, I requested it to be sent around mid June and it was marked as received 4-5 days later. Good luck!

Also it’s ucr I doubt they’ll rescind anybody

@pleaseacceptme99 You’re probably right, but everyone’s afraid this is the year they’re changing policy and stepping it up – just like UCI because back in the day UCI used to be the UCR of today. Thanks for the reassurance though ^.^

I was in the same situation as well. However, I sent in my transcript 3 days ago and got a phone call from Mr.Lopez yesterday telling me that they reviewed my transcript and are going to follow through in my application. I’m entering UCR as a bio major and I failed Spanish first semester of senior year. So good luck to everyone else!

@McNugget42 Haha now I’m getting worried about the timing, MyUCR says they recieved my transcript on 6/24 but I have yet to hear from them. I also made up the grade online (Calc AB Sem 1) so I’m hoping that I did everything properly here

UCI is lame too lol

UPDATE They waived my deficient grade  See you all at UCR!

@blarghlife I’ve got an update as well, they didn’t rescind me! But mostly because I made up the grade before transcripts were due.

I also heard a lot of people who still had deficient grades (only those with 1 in senior year) didn’t end up getting rescinded like Mr. Lopez said they would. I did hear of people who did get rescinded with multiple deficient grades though.

I think UCR is stepping up their admissions process as well as they’re less of an overflow school now compared to UC Merced and trying to let less people into UCR.

Half right.
This year’s freshman class is the largest in UCR’s history. However, it is also true that admissions have grown more competitive, and that many fewer ‘overflow’ students who applied to other UCs (primarily UCLA and Berkeley) were offered a slot at UCR. UCR saw a significant rise in the number of students designating Riverside as their preferred campus, and with the UC’s new state funding approval, Merced is now poised to resume its growth, so many students were directed there.
