I got waitlisted - what now?

First I get deferred when I applied early action

Now I get waitlisted

What are my chances of getting in now?

i'm in the same boat as you
luckily i was accepted in my other schools with money

No one can tell you your chances, but good luck.

They're slim...last year 4000 people got waitlisted. About 2000 chose to stay on the waitlist and 100 got taken off the waitlist. The most important thing to do now is reconsider everywhere else you got accepted and send a deposit to one of those schools. If you happen to get off the Villanova waitlist in the next 2 months or so? then decide where you want to go. I hate to say it but coming off the waitlist is not an easy thing to do. I think it would be best to move on from the school...I'm saying this from personal experience. You'll be happy wherever you go : )

Now that FA packages are out, I think a LOT of us will be dropping Nova. They didn't cover a lot of posters' EFCs. I have gotten more $$ from Trinity and BC. We can't afford to send me for that price.....Good Luck!

what FA packages whats all those terms mean hahaha dont get the lingo sorry but im curious

uh 2 years ago 2000 people got off waitlist to fill the last 150 spots so it varies

Gambit, FA stands for financial aid. EFC stands for Expected Family Contribution - it's the number the Fafsa spits out once you put it all your tax info, and that number is how much money your family should be expected to contribute to your college costs. Technically, schools are supposed to cover everything but that number with your financial aid package, but Nova is leaving huge gaps in most people's packages.

ooo thanks alot for clearin all taht up

katifromkaty, if you don't mind me asking, how did you get more money out of BC?! i wish! BC is my top pick, but Nova ended up giving me about 10k more. ohhh, colleges and money.
Good luck wherever you choose!

lol, 100 ppl got accepted off the waitlist? that's better than MIT's waitlist at least, where there was a time when
1 person got accepted off the waitlist in 3 years.

college, I don't know! VN was not kind to me at all! With BC, it might be that I am from Texas? Where are you from? Actually, Trinity offered the most and it is a few hours from here!

Did you do early decision to Villanova or BC?

katifromkaty- yea, I'm from CT which probably doesn't make me stand out in the BC applicant pool. it's awesome that you applied all the way from Texas.
Which school(s) are you leaning towards more?

I sent in my rejection to VN, it is def not worth the money. Trinity was the most generous, but BC is in Boston. What to do, what to do! I have to decide soon! lol!

Ugh, tell me about it. The decisions are so hard. I will probably be sending in my deposit on April 30th!
