Just, not for me?

What do you like about being a dentist?

u cant stand it as in the amount of work u get in the AP classes or like jus the subject in general?

If you don't like the actual subjects/topics, then medicine and dentistry really doesn't seem like the right path. Maybe you should give it some time until after you take the college versions of those classes?

I would say probably not, your AP Chem, bio and physics are beginning classes in college. If you are not interested in those i suggest you look another way. There are other ways to get into Dental school though. You dont HAVE to be pre-dental to get into dental school. I am a biochemistry major. If you check out www.adea.org you can find out more information. Technically you can go into dental school with a pre-law major. You could go with something like a business major, but remember you still have to do good on the DAT, which is going to be mostly on science classes... http://www.testprepreview.com/dat_practice.htm you can check that out and see some practice questions. No can can answer if it is for you or not. That is something you have to decide on your own, but I might suggest thinking of something new or trying extra hard in them.

let's be clear that there are few schools with an actual pre-dental major. Like pre-med, pre-dent at the overwhelming majority of schools is simply an advising category.

There are courses that dental schools require for admission - biology, chemistry (inorganic and organic) and physics, just like Medical schools.

You should probably consider another field, seeing as med school focuses on the sciences

I wanted to be a doctor before I discovered my deep dislike for biology. So if you stray from your prior ambition due to a dislike of a subject or subjects, know that you wouldn’t be the first.

Dentistry for the most part doesn’t really deal with those subjects at all, and if they do it’s usually very very little. I took Chem at my school, it totally turned me off from becoming a doctor, but I still want to be one. The reason why they’re required for pre-med is because you develop a certain way of thinking and problem solving that is needed to go on to medical school and join the medical field.

Dentistry is an application of biology, just like medicine. You’re going to be bombarded with biology during dental school at the very least. Also, you will be involved in studying chemistry during dental school as well because dentists also make use of pharmaceuticals.
