Recs: My english teacher wrote the most to die for letter. My physics teacher is going to write one which I’m sure will focus on my work ethic, personality, and amount of time spent on activities outside of school (he knows I worked two jobs all last yr).

Work:
I worked 70 hrs a week at Panera Bread over the summer and have had a lot of other jobs at restaurants. I worked two jobs throughout Junior Year.

Other: I have taken 10 gifted classes which are about 10 times harder than AP at my school and weighted the same as honors. My counselor will be pointing this out in her statement. I have some alum connections as well. My great aunt used to be on ad com and my aunt and many cousins went to Brown.

70 hrs a week?!! Dang dude.

Yeah good chance :]

anyone else?

lol, what insane state do you live in that let you work that many hours before you were 18?

not only that, but i wouldnt have time for one full time job, let alone 2. Also, my friend goes to Brown and her dad does interviews for my city, and he told me that they put a good amount of emphasis on the interview, so prepare for that

hey guys, what do we do with our personal essay for paper applicaiton. Do we paste the essay to the space given or just give a sperarte copy.

Well, for the paper application, don't you just write out your essay on the sheet itself and send it in with your application?

I'm doing online b/c it's a lot easier and more neat, and not as much of writing. Plus, you can just send everything together, and then only have to send transcript, resume, recommendations with your app via mail.

lol, Matt, I think your friend's dad has an inflated sense of his own importance :-P. The interviews are largely designed to make sure you are a real person with real interest in the school and to catch anything special that the app might miss. They are usually with Alums, and so strong emphasis is not put on them in the admissions process (any number of people, admissions officers included, will tell you that). Mine was just about as informal as could be (this was also the experience of most others I know here), and preparing would have been a big mistake.

Personally, I can't wait to do interviews after I graduate. They're meant to be fun, and any interviewers who are taking them too seriously are full of it :-).

I work in Florida and I didn't even get paid overtime. Stupid Panera...
