<p>Today, I finally got my essay score for the ACT and had an 8 out of 12. I'm not a bad writer. I have an A in College Comp. I just can't write under timed conditions. If my ACT Composite was a 34 and my English multiple-choice score was a 33, how much will such a low essay grade hurt me if I'm applying to seective colleges?</p>
<p>It seems as though I also got an 8, despite my 36 in english and the 5 I got on AP english lang as a sophomore. Just do well on the SAT essay. I doubt colleges will give it too much weight since it was optional and its the first time its ever been given.</p>
