About OP's complaint of ppl sniping at her wanting to go to Harvard, I presume the ppl who do the asking are casual acquaintances, why not be glib and don't tell them your first choice? They don't have to know. Even with distant family members, be evasive...(I am applying to some schools in the east coast, and some here, thats all...) That way they be pleasantly surprised when it happened. Just my thoughts.

Casual acquaintances could just be told, "Hey, I don't want to jinx things by telling people" or "I've decided to tell people only where I am accepted." Then smile and change the subject ... like where are they applying. People prefer to talk about themselves anyway.

i think pplz who make rude comments like " u're ****ing crazy" etc, are just jealous... :D

I hate it when people think minorities get into top schools just because of affirmative action. Or when other students assume their black peers are there just to play sports.

I hate haircuts. They always turn out heinously wrong. Sometimes it gets cut too short (irreversable), sometimes too long (reversable), asymetrically (irreversable) or just plain ugly (irreversable). Then you're stuck with bad hair for a week, month, 2 months-however long it takes for it to grow back...I hate being self-conscious for a month...it sucks...I feel uncomfortable being out in public...Damn it I wish I could decide at some point that my hair shouldn't grow any more and that it should stay a certain length, or decide that it should grow to a certain length on command.

I hate it when parents overreact to bad hair. It grows back...by cutting it more, you're making it worse...you're lengthening the time it takes to grow back to normal...now I look like a coconut that's been squeezed in the middle...one of those like bad styles from like the 50's...GRRRRRRR

OK. End vent. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go look for a wig.

Haha, ihateCA, you should've read the original post... that's not what this thread is about.

Yea having a bad haircut sucks. The only antidote is to get bald, since I hate hats.

I know, but I just had to get it out of my system.

iHateCA is acting delusional :)
