If I hate math and science does that mean being a doctor is done and over with? Like a cosmetic surgeon?

that would be a ton of science classes for someone who does not like the subject--if you want to suffer through the schooling you might be able to pull it off

not to judge, but this shows you are only doing it for the money. i think you should do something you really have a passion for. since you obviously don't like science or math, you are gonna go through one hell of a time in college to become a cosmetic surgeon.

agree. If you don't like math and science, then you will not like being a doctor.

Not to mention medical school.

One could hate math and science and go into the medical profession for reasons besides money. But really, you will be studying a lot of science in your life, and a bit of math, so if you hate it, you might want to rethink medicine, or learn to tolerate it. Why do you want to become a doctor?

My girlfriend hates math, but is a bio major. She's a good one, too. And she wants to be a doctor for low-income communities.

Yeah, she's totally in it for the money.

I don't think you really have to be good at math; my mom is abysmal at math, couldn't do algebra to save her life, but is an excellent family practice physician. But I do think you have to have at least a passing interest in science to be a successful doctor-Thats 8 years of science classes you are going to be taking to get there. Maybe you could reevaluate why exactly you would like to be a doctor; if its to help people, there are other careers, if its for money, there are other careers. You probably could make it as as doctor hating math or science if you try hard enough. But the question is-Why would you want to?
