I hate Spanish with a burning passion.

So far, I'm a sophomore in Spanish II. Since I'm taking some other full year electives like orchestra, I would have to take zero-hour classes to fulfill P.E. and tech/occupational credits.

Spanish by itself is fine, a mildly dull topic compared to some of my other classes, but I tolerate it. I want to go into computer science, so I don't really find a learning a new language extensively as applicable to my career path.

I am considering dropping it in favor of an online course on Digipen. Why can't you do both, you ask? Well, the online class totals to 540 hours, so it's already very demanding. On top of 4 AP courses next year, I'd practically implode. As of right now, if an adcom looked at my transcript and extracurrics, they'd think I want to go into environmental research ...

However, as all of you, I have my sights set on some fairly competitive schools that range around 25-10 percent acceptances. I won't factor in anything else I do, but what's your input on this?

Note: Continuing Spanish but in an altered form isn't completely out of the question. I just want to find out if there's a way where I can take a class that sounds extremely interesting and NOT have to compromise how competitive I am.
