I think go for it
You never know and you could always get higher (or lower)
but worst case scenario
colleges still use ur 2310

You were definitely being obnoxious.
To take anything above the 99.9 percentile is a waste of time, money, and human labor.

Princeton rejects 3/4s of students with 2300+. Having a score that high won't make or break you if you are a candidate who brings nothing else to the table.

okay, got it. thanks

oh god....

anybody who actually feels the need to post a topic like this is clearly insecure. Of course you shouldn't retake them, unless you want to spend another pointless 4 hours taking a test. You should try the ACTs instead.

maybe, but i don't really like the ACTs.. oh well 2310 isn't bad i guess.

i know a lot of people think this is just obnoxious and pretentious and annoying.. i would too. so sorry! i'm not insecure i promise, i am just pretty used to second guessing myself. 2310 is a good score, but it's not what i was aiming for, and if i can improve my chances even by a little bit i'm willing to. that's all...

"i'm not insecure i promise, i am just pretty used to second guessing myself."

lol what's the difference?

touche.

what i meant was that i always thought 2310 was a good score but i'm also realistic. the people who got into ivies at my school last year had scores of 2350 ++. i'm not going to blindly think that 2310 is wonderful, because there is still room for growth. i'm not mad at myself for getting a 2310.. in fact you could say i'm quite pleased. but i know that the schools i want to go to are VERY competitive and oftentimes every little bit counts.

I think people who retake 2300+ to show colleges that they can maintain SAT score at 2300+ level ??!!
lol but u don't have to retake.2310 is very competitive

i dont think you need to retake because you didn't 710 any of them. I think of the ivies as wanting like 750 and above on each SECTION not 2350 and above. Im at 2340 and trying not to stress :)

I say retake it. I don't know why everyone's tell you not to -- sure, 2310 good enough, but I mean, why not take the chance? It's like saying to not apply to Yale or Harvard on the presumption you're going to fail.

Good scores take you a long way, but faith in yourself goes even farther. If you think you can get 2350+, then by all means do so. My parents believed I was going to get 720-750 on SAT ii chem and I proved them wrong by scoring an 800. So yeah, take my word. 4 hours and $44 dollars is nothing compared to thinking "what if" if you get rejected by your Ivy dream schools.

Lol... don't expect your scores to go up... If you do, your head is in the clouds.

Most scores from that range go down...

Two wrong on math, three on reading on a bad curve day. There. You've scored worse.

UGHHHHHHHHH one of my friends just took it and got a 2370! I"M SO MAD. I WANTED TO BEAT HER.

i don't know what to do i wanted to break 2350 SOOO bad.. =(

^are you posting to release your feelings? B/c honestly people have already said that you can get in over someone with >2350. You could also get rejected by retaking the SAT again to get >2350 and not have anything else special. You could retake it if you find this stuff fun and you have no other way to spend your money.

You can retake it if you want to, but really? Stop obsessing over the SATs. After like 2200, it doesn't make much of a difference a few points one way or another. You should really focus on something productive instead of this, because you're actually creeping me out. The SAT bears no relevance on what kind of person you are, and bear in mind colleges also look at that.

Not because they have 40 or even 90 points higher on the SAT than you. People with higher SAT scores tend to be the same people who do well in school, participate in ECs, etc, because they all have their eyes set on ivy league schools. But it wasn't the 40-90 extra points that did it, it's the whole picture.

So if you have the same or better grades, competitions, ECs, etc, then you're as likely to get in as they are.

Okay...now that's just a little creepy.

OHHH i see!

i didn't want to beat her like hit her beat her.
i wanted to beat her like beat her score. like score above her! that's all.

goshhh, i'm not THAT creepy!

Yes you are.. this is what i call 'cut throat.'
