Since a lot of people are posting their essays on the forum and most of those are not getting any feed back. How about we create a seperate forum just for SAT essay writing? Here's what we could do in the forum. Each week, I will post a new thread with a SAT essay question. People could post their essays on it while they add constructive critisizm and new insights on other's essays.

Practicing writing essays individually might help to some degrees. However, practice also makes permanent meaning if we make the same mistakes couple of times then it will be hard for us to undo it. Bringing new perspectives and peer mediation will definently boost our SAT writing skill.

We should have a “Weekly Writing” board in which every week, someone could make up a potential essay prompt, then people who wanted would write an essay, and everyone would give feedback to each other’s :D

After all, then if person A gives feedback to person B, then person B would sorta be obligated to give feedback back - which certainly isn’t present here, which is pretty much just a person posting their essay and having people give feedback for nothing more than a happy feeling :P

^Except might Person A give overly lenient (and overall unconstructive) feedback in anticipation of getting nice feedback in return from Person B, who will then feel obligated to give similar poor feedback back to Person A because they’d be a dick if they were harsh?

It seems to me there is a lot of potential to recreate the problem you are trying to avoid.

Solutions: comment as guests (possible here?). make seperate accounts, wherein one is the account with which you give feedback and the other is the account with which you post your own essays. etc.

I am sorry, but I believe your are over-thinking. I highly doubt either person A or B would be harsh towards each other since there will be rules that obligate vulgarity and harshness. If someone starts to become a dick, the person( like the admin) who started the new topic could delete his/her post.

Instead of having people only give feed back to the essay that was posted before their essay, people should just quote essays that they want to give feed backs on.

Those feed back should be formatted in this way:

1)Grammar, usage, and mechanics

-Strength: blah blah
-Weakness: blah blah
-specific line that needs to be corrected

2)Does it demonstrates variety in sentence structure?

-Strength: blah blah…
_weakness: blah blah…
-what could be added, erased or changed

3)how does it exhibits the use of language?

-Strength: blahblah
-Weakness: blah blah
-what should be added or changed (e.g. the word “nice” weather should be replace as lovely sunny weather

4)How does it progress ideas and demonstrate clear coherence?
