My avg gpa: 2.3
I'm a senior in high school, my parents told me that I would regret life if I became lazy at school and in my studies. This became true, it's the month of august and next month is the start of senior high. I have no choice but to try to attend a community college, then if I work hard enough I will go to a UC/Cal university. I'll then be able to go to a college for my career path for my degrees in Aviation Mechanics and Technician. I will have to get loans because both my parents income is a total of 40k, I wish there was a time machine so i could go back in time. My parents never went to college and I'm a first generation phewwwwwwwwww. I'll just be happy for my friends that get into a good college. Here I go life!

Aircraft Mechanics/Technicians 30k a year start. Not really for the money anyhow, but the passion.

P.s. I also want to pursue Aeronautic Engineering, I'm still happy that I know what I wanna do with my life. =-D

Although, if I had the choice between getting a degree to be a 30k/yr tech or to be an engineer…i’d pick the latter. But you sir, you’ve got it all figured out.

I think you have a great plan. For yourself! But if your parents make that much, then you should do more research on how much financial aid you can receive cuz i think its more affordable than you said.

But i personally want to say that although you made mistakes in the past (I know I have my own fair share of mistakes), everything happens for a reason so stick to it and i wish the best for you :)

It’s never too late to start making good choices! I think it’s great that you have found a passion. Just stay focused on your goals and work hard. Success may not be instant, but hard work will always pay off. :)

You definitely can accomplish that! I was like you, freshman year was horrible and I regret doing so badly. Many people do not try to better themselves and fix the mistakes that they’ve made, so you’re at a great start already. Good luck!

Personally, I think you’d be much better suited trying engineering out so that you can provide a better life both for yourself and your future children if you will have them. My dad and their brothers worked their butts of individually to get out of poverty. I kinda took it for granted but am getting my life on track. Better now than never.

Do good in your math and physics classes at your CC and you’ll for sure get into a university to pursue your desired major. Cal Poly SLO/Cal Poly Pomona are good engineering schools for the CSU’s. UC’s like Berkeley and UCLA are cool too.

I would try out community college for one year and then decide. I also think that an aircraft mechanic will make more than that and it sounds like a great profession.
