I have a question about PStatement.

I have a commonapp essay that is roughly 500 words, can i just send that as my personal statement to Penn State?

And when is Penn States deadline?

no the personal statement doesn’t allow that much room there is a character limit- if I recall it is 1200 characters

@rocknroll52

They changed the limit to 500 words sometime late september/early october

So I could if the commonapp essay is under 500 words? Is there any topic for this personal statment? cause my commonapp essay is about family, I hope to use that as Penn States personal statement.

Doesn’t the Penn State essay Prompt have to do with expanding on an activity or EC? You should always follow the prompt. Many essays can be tweaked (a “why do you want to come here”, or “Watcha gonna bring” prompt, but using a general common app personal statement the doesn’t address the Penn State question will appear a little lazy. If anything the better decision would be to expound on the CA “activities” short answer.

My daughter wrote an essay over the summer with the intent of customizing it to fit whatever essay question might be asked on an appl. She then adapted her standard essay to fit the size of the PSU app. Tweaked it a bit - but not that much. Topic was how she wants to combine her love of history, architecture and engineering to preserve historic buildings. She was accepted yesterday.

which program was she accepted to?

Engineering - University Park

Congratulations. Has anyone heard from the School of Architecture?
