I have a weird case

I am applying to UW and Stanford. I am pretty sure I can get into UW I have a 3.53 GPA, i am in calculus senior year and I am a tutor for my school. The thing is I am lacking in EC's but that's because I have been fighting a cancer brain tumor I was diagnosed with when I was seven and have struggled with it since. It is kind of hard to be captain of varsity track or go to national debate tournaments when your in and out of the hospital every couple weeks. I was just wondering do I have any chance with Stanford even with very little EC's but a good story.

Mmm… it probably won’t get you into Stanford. I assume you have more than 2 schools on your list? If not, you should add a few more matches and safeties. It is fine to apply to Stanford, but have some more realistic schools on your list as well.

I do Gonzaga, WSU, OSU, UofO, I should have said Stanford is my reach school and by reach I mean leap. But I mean the cancer thing is a lot the doctors said I shouldn’t be able to walk but I am planning on trying out for high school track this year if something doesn’t come up

Like I said, go ahead and apply. You have good accomplishments given your situation, but Stanford also has to make sure the students they accept can keep up the pace there when they arrive. And the competition is just so fierce. No one out here can really tell you your chances because the acceptance rate is so low there, except to say that your GPA is well below what they usually accept. Complete the application, but put an equal amount of time into your other apps. Just like everyone else who applies to Stanford, your odds are a lot higher that you will get into and attend one of the other schools on your list.

Thank You for taking the time for this post I know chances post must be annoying

One last question I want to go into bio-engineering to give kids with conditions like mine the best chance possible so what good bio-engineering schools are there that I can realistically apply to
