I called up the school and was able to get some info about the waitlist....the man said that about 300-400 people were waitlisted and there is usually about 50 spots to fill max. The man said that they may need more or less than this number, and that they admitted 2050 kids to fill around 750 spots. If you got waitlisted, post your stats so we can see what we are looking at....
SAT-1910 Math-670
Reading- 610
Writing- 630
GPA- 3.7 Weighted

My daughter is waitlisted too. We were told the same statistics.
Her SATswere low 1050, but she is a transfer so she took the old test. gpa 3.5. great references though! Do they really wait until June even though they know by May 1st who is or isn't accepting! It is making us both crazy as she won't look at any other schools right now.

I got waitlisted by pepperdine and I'd really like to go. I'm not exactly the brightest though, GPA 3.48 weighted, SATs Critical Reading: 590, Math:610, Writing: 620 (total: 1820). From the looks of it, I don't see how I could be among the better waitlisted candidates. If anyone has any idea, is there anything I can do or say to the admissions officers?

Hi, my D was on the waitlist and has been accepted but was told she was 1 of 2 accepted this year.... a really tough year for WL. her stats were similar to yours, slightly higher gpa, but she has college units and will be a sophomore when she enters. She worked really hard to get out of a bad college placement last year to attend her dream school Pepperdine. My advise: she had excellent recommendations from really connected people through our church. She had good service activities with school and church, she worked really hard to get a good gpa from her transfer college @3.7, she even updated her essay. She made early contact with her admission advisor at Pepperdine and kept him updated on her grades, and her first choice desire to go to pepperdine and updated recommendations. She kept in touch regularly without being pushy.
So don't give up if you don't get a call over the summer. Apply for Spring and again in fall 2007. Make sure any college course you take you study hard for and make sure they are transferable (check the pepperdine website).
Good luck!
