I have no idea what to shoot for (CCC transfer chances)

<p>I graduated from high school with a bad GPA (I just refused to apply myself) and directly after that I enrolled in my local community college (out of state). In a year and a half I ended up getting a B, a C, and about 8 W's.</p>

<p>After about another year and a half off (I'm now 22), I moved to California and started attending a CCC. Since then, I've been working on my IGETC without any real idea of what it actually took to get into these schools.</p>

<p>I've been hoping to get into a CSU school (Fullerton, San Fransisco, maybe others) after I complete my IGETC at the end of fall, but I'd like to know what my chances are for CSU and UC schools (most major CSU schools, Cal Poly SLO, UC schools, and maybe UCLA?). Am I selling myself short by hoping for a CSU? </p>

<p>Currently my transferable GPA is 3.7 (thanks to getting my head on straight) and my major is Sociology. My GPA should only go up as I complete more classes.</p>

<p>I work part time while I go to school and I don't have any community service or volunteer experience.</p>

<p>Any feedback on my chances would be appreciated!</p>

<p>Well depending on your CC- you can sign some guranteed transfer agreements for just about all UCs except Berk and LA - and for most of the CSUs.
So you can give yourself mroe than a chance, you can just gurantee yourself a spot by doing what the agreements state. </p>

<p>For UCLA- you have a chance, up your gpa a bit, to about 3.8 would be best, and write a good essay. Also join TAP to really give yourself a super good chance- with TAP certification most students are accepted and you get a choice of alternate major.</p>

<p>You said you initially did bad in your local CC, so if the term(s) is bad enough, you could apply for Academic Renewal, which would allow those grades to not be counted toward your GPA.</p>
