I have no idea where to go to college

I want to go to a college that's big and has a good bio program. But I want to pay a minimal amount of money for it. What's the best college that I have a good chance of a large scholarship for?

So, here's my stats

Ethnicity: Asian
Age: 17

SAT I: not taken
SAT II: not taken; planning to take
ACT: 33, planning to take again for top 1% score
Estimated High School gpa: 3.5 (maybe 3.6)
Clubs throughout high school (# years): NJROTC (2), MAO (2), World Language Club (2), FBLA (2), Med-Ex (1), Computer Science Club (1)

Other things:

During my Junior year of high school, I transferred in to a magnet school. The classes I took are all tough, college level classes (not AP classes, college credit level classes). My GPA went down from a 4.0. Here's a list of the maths/sciences I took.

Calculus I (differential calc)
Calculus II (integral calc)
Calculus III (multi var calc)
Probability/Statistics
Physics with calculus
Chemistry II
Human Anatomy
Vertebrate Zoology
Genetics
Molecular/Cellular

These are obviously hard classes.... But will my gpa still count against my chances of getting a scholarship?

Additionally, during the summer between my Junior and Senior year, I completed around 400 hours of research in a research lab. I'm in the process of writing a research paper, and I hope to enter the Intel competition. I'm also listed as 2nd author for a science journal being published later this year.

I have also completed about 200 hours of volunteering at a church, library, elementary school, my school, and other places. However, this was mandatory (stipulated by school). Does this count?

I hope to attend medical school, which is very expensive. I need scholarships/grants because I don't see the point in paying high tuition for 8 years.

So, how high can I aim for college wise and still get a scholarship. I realize that'stherea no concrete way of knowing, but what are you opinions?

Thanks!

Big school & low cost – your State Univ. is probably best bet. What State are you from?

What is your GPA exactly?

What is the weighted GPA?

I hope to attend medical school, which is very expensive. I need scholarships/grants because I don’t see the point in paying high tuition for 8 years.

So, how high can I aim for college wise and still get a scholarship.*

So, you’re looking for big merit scholarships? How much can you contribute each year for college, since such a scholarship won’t cover everything.

Your ACT is high enough for some schools’ merit scholarships, but your GPA might hurt you. You need to find out what GPA will be on your transcript. Will it have a weighted GPA?

I live in Louisiana
the classes I take are college credit
classes, not ap classes, so my unweighted gpa is going to be 3.5-3.6

What is your GPA now after Junior year? Does your school weight GPAs? Schools will consider the difficulty of your schedule along with your grades AND your class rank (you are compared to your peers). Your in-state schools like LSU are probably your best bet for scholarship $. Maybe Alabama.

It’s 3.76 after junior year.

My school doesn’t rank.

And I hate Louisiana
