Megs,
You must be an excellent student because Pomona College and Harvy Mudd are top shelf schools. Do they allow students to dance at Baylor? ;) Getting Excited?

I'm very excited! And I know students dance at Baylor, although I'm not sure if they're "allowed" to... they still have paridals there--no guys in the girls dorms, and vice versa, after 8 pm on week nights and midnight (I think) on weekends! It's a very conservative school, to say the least.

I wanted to stay in California if I couldnt swing USNA If I dont get the appointment :( Ill be at UCLA next fall, unfortunately the NROTC scholarship didn't work out for me, though. I plan on trying for the academy at least a second time if this year doesn't work out. Hmm...Maybe I'll be offered NAPS?

Yanks...I am interested in your school choices...my son has some similar and thought about WUSL. Is Norte Dame a NROTC school for you? Several of yur other schools do not do NROTC as in my sons case. What is your intended major? Best of luck with your decision!

Juniormom,

With 2 girls going through the college search process we visited quite a few schools of all different types. I visited Wash U. St. Louis just last week with my other daughter. I think it's likely my absolute favorite (for a civilian school of course) right now. I was impressed with everything I saw and heard.

Good luck!

My Son update . . .

Dear juniormom,

My choices weren't really based with NROTC Scholarship in mind. My parents (and Grandparents) have basically been saving every penny, (and I do not exaggerate) for college since my birth, no real grandiose expenditures. So I'm one of the fortunate ones that can say money is not a problem for me. Washu is a great school. Their Polic-sci program is amazing. The architecture reminded me of how they built D.C.: to seem intimidating to foreign visitors. I'm most likely going to be a political science or economics major, so Washu, home of presidential debates, is like Mecca to me. There's nothing wrong with it from what I can see, but it just doesn't hit my heart like notre dame and USNA do. Notre Dame and Northwestern, though, do have an NROTC program, and I plan to look into the non-scholarship course (ergo no service commitment) if I decide against USNA.

It's just the angst of choosing is all. My principal said "The decision sucks, but it's a good dilemma to have."
