NavGirl, your stats are very impressive. I have to ask, where have you decided to go to school?

I hope all that talk earlier in March didn't run NavGirl away... I personally like hearing where everyone has applied to and where they plan on ending up at.

In an earlier thread, candidates listed schools to which they had applied, but it was early and many hadnt heard one way or the other. Lets update that list. The format could be:

Service Academy status
NROTC award
College A: Accepted
College B: Accepted

Maybe people just want to share the good news.:) I believe that USNA gets a very high caliber of student, and I would like to see what other schools candidates have been accepted to, in addition to updated NROTC/ROTC scholarships.

Son's status

I am waiting to see whether I got into USNA. I was kind of bummed I didn't get into USMA cause I really wanted to go there at one point but then I found out from my congressman's service office that I got put low in the rankings cause I listed it as my second choice. If I get into Navy I think I may go there because I like how it's bigger, but if not I won't mind at all and will go to USCGA. Still deciding really.

USNA--appointment and going
Pomona College (Claremont, CA)--current student
Harvey Mudd (also in Claremont)--accepted last year

Son appointed to USNA and accepted appointment.
Rice: Accepted
Duke: Accepted
UTexas: Accepted
Princeton: Accepted

Spider MD: I have to ask . . . you were accepted to Rice and decided to attend Texas Tech? Without prying too much, I guess there were other factors in play?

The Girl does seem to have disappeared although I saw a post of hers the other day on the Princeton discussion board.

USMA: Appointed
USMMA: Appointed
USNA: Should hear back from them soon
University of Minnesota Army ROTC: Accepted

If I get appointed to USNA I will have a really tough time making a decision between there and West Point.

Well the first reason was that I live in Lubbock, Texas to begin with so I could stay at home and go to school only 20 mins away... I figured that if I were to go away for college that the temptation for partying, just the overall chance of getting into trouble, etc etc... Everything but actual school work would be a lot greater... Texas Tech has a great Engineering program (of which I have almost completed) so it will be interesting to see how USNA does their engineering program
Can't Wait!

It sounds like the Class of 09 is going to be an impressive one! Congratulations to everyone and remember...RUN, RUN, RUN every day until I-Day. You'll be happy you did! If someone saw NavGirl on the Princeton lists, I suspect that's where she's going?!

Purdue Engineering: Accepted with four year NROTC scholarship and ROTC Merit Scholarship

I'm still deliberating between Notre Dame and the Academy. Hardest decision i've ever had to make. I'm losing a lot of sleep over it. But I've decided to make one by Friday. Ugh. Why can't I just flip a coin?

You can flip a coin. I'm seroius. That's what I did when I was deciding what school to go to, and then immediately after I had this horrible feeling in my stomache... so I decided to go to the other school.
