Ok so I just had the biggest epiphany of my life and I have a pretty good idea for what I want to write my essay on. Now..I don't have the essay typed out for anyone to read and edit or what have you, but I would really like to pm some 12'ers & 13'ers to see what they think of the idea. It's kinda out there. No wait - REALLY out there. So..before I waste anymore of my/your/our time, I thought I'd run it by some of you who have been around the block a few times to know what ideas make good essays.

I'm really really excited about it..So if you are willing to listen to my idea (Which actually involves a past prompt) I'd be glad to pm it to you.

Thank you so much for putting up with me xD

Sent, sent, sent and sent o.o Wow, thanks guys!

To be honest, I was kinda nervous about sending it to youse guys (Thought I’d incorporate my philly accent a little xD) because you know, you’re already in and I’m not, and I don’t know why, but applying to college makes students a little obsessed/crazy (If you couldn’t tell already from me xD) So we’re all under this impression that it has to be perfect or something. Murr, it can just be a little intimidating is all…but I guess that’s life :P

Deferred has a couple of definitions in the context of college admissions.

You apply EA/ED, and you are deferred to the RD applicant pool. It’s basically just putting your EA application on hold. I’m not sure if UChicago does this, but I assume it does.

This is what signitblank is referring to. He/she was accepted to enter the class of 2013, but instead of accepting enrollment, he/she decided to wait and take a gap year in Germany. So he/she was admitted already, but won’t be starting this fall with the rest of the class of 2013. Study abroad is the most common reason for doing this.
