Hello everyone. I am admitted to UCLA as a BE MAJOR. I have 2 EW courses this semester (POIL AND PHIL)but neither are major courses. I just reported this change and I am SOOO nerves now. I told UCLA that my family is going through a financial hardship and I have to help my mom with her work. Can anyone tell me if my admission will be withdrawn?
anyone can help me?
What does EW mean. Are you a CC transfer, 4 year college transfer or high school senior.
@Gumbymom is the UC champion on this site. I’m sure she can help. Take a deep breath and relax. There’s always a solution.
I am going to move this to the UC Transfer forum, but I believe an EW is an Excused Withdrawal.
These are difficult times for many families and UCLA should be more lenient than normal. You have notified them of the withdrawals along with a good reason plus they are not major courses.
I think you should be fine. Best of luck.
No. You fulfilled your major req and units. Plus this has been an emotional spring term.
I think that you need to hear back from UCLA to find out the real answer.
“These are difficult times for many families and UCLA should be more lenient than normal.”
That would be my best guess. Considering everything that the pandemic has done, a couple of non-core dropped classes seems minor to me.
Let us know what happens. Good luck with this. Plan to work hard when you get to UCLA.
Today is the fifth day since I reported my academic changes, but I still havent heard back from UCLA…so nervous right now
anyone?
@heyciel it often takes 5 days under normal circumstances and they’re overwhelmed now. You’ll probably hear in the next few days.
