344 words for the short answer, which approximates 250 words. Is that too much?

I think the stock answer for this question is that 200-300 is the standard and that you should try to fit it on to one page double spaced.

Mmmm I see Thanks so muc. I'll keep trying to cut it down

yeah, one page double-spaced is good (300 words max is a good word count to go by)

I'm sure it'll be fine. I've mailed mine and it is similar. As long as it's less than 1 page you're ok. They will read through everything you give them--they just don't have the time to be so fastidious as to count every word or deny a strong applicant for something as little as a word limit. Don't think too much about it--the adcom isn't out to get you, they just want the strongest applicants.

Aren't we supposed to also write question on top of the essay?
that makes my essay to go to 2nd page.
Any Ideas???

Move essay question/name into the header and change your top/bottom/left/right margins to 1". And as a last resort, make the essay question font smaller. You can also not double space the essay question, or you can use 1.5 spacing, instead of double.

wow.. that is a good idea..
I have never thought of that.
I am thinking of using the header idea. though admission officers should be able to notice it even if name and question are in header, right?
just in case....

I put the topic in the header without even thinking about it...
