I haven't gotten an interview. Should I be worried?

Everyone has been getting interviews and I haven't even been contacted and I believe that I'm at least qualified to be interviewed. I have a 3.76 UW and 4.14 W with a 31 ACT. Should I be worried that I haven't been contacted or is it just some students get one or does it matter about the college? (College of Arts and Sciences)

In all other programs, interviews are neither required nor offered. Campus visits are always encouraged, and most students who apply for freshman admission will be contacted by a member of a local Cornell alumni committee in the fall or winter. These informal conversations with alumni are not required and are meant only to allow an additional opportunity for the student to learn more about Cornell – and for Cornell to learn more about the student. (Please note that alumni contacts do not take the place of the required interview for architecture or hotel.)

The CAAAN volunteers were only able to interview slightly more than half of last year’s applicants. You should not interpret the lack of interview to mean anything.

My D was never contacted for an interview & was admitted.

Being contacted for an information session does not reflect in any way your application. There are not enough volunteers to meet with the increasing number of applicants who apply to Cornell.

However, please make sure you check the email address you used to apply. Most alumni volunteers will reach out to you that way to set up an appointment, and I hear from many alumni admissions volunteers that they never hear back or hear back too late with the excuse of, “oh, I never check that email address.”
