I sent in my common app and supplment on October 16th. I haven't heard back about an alumni session. Should I be worrying?

Same, I haven’t received a call either, I am getting nervous.

As has been repeated plenty of times on CC, not every applicant will receive an alumni interview. Some areas don’t have any alumni interviewers while in other areas the number of applicants far exceeds the number of alums.

If you don’t receive an interview, don’t fret. It says nothing about the competitiveness of your application. The interview also isn’t required, so not having an interview will not harm your application in any way.

I’m not too worried. I haven’t been contacted either, but I hear it’s more of an information session for the prospective student than anything.

I also have a friend whose mother is an alumni interviewer than is giving me a rec, which makes me think they might have passed over me on purpose.

I mentioned this earlier–I have two children at Cornell and neither one of them had an interview. Interviews are not required by all of the colleges.
