i haven't gotten anything yet?

should i call nyu because i have not received anything from the campus and i am getting scared. i know they received my application because i talked to them a while back on the phone about it. i am so scared something, like i haven't received anything that i can check my status or anything online?

should i be worried?

RD decision date is April 1st I believe, by you comments you do know they have you application and nothing is missing? perhaps another call just to make sure again will ease your fears.

I think you are just waiting for D day.

Do they mail-out the "saturday/sunday in washington square park..." invitation BEFORE April 1? Because I believe those are good accepted signs.

If they said they received your application all you can do is wait. The decision date isn't until April 1, so just sit tight and it will come. Waiting is the hardest part, but you'll live, I promise.

the invitations arrive around mid-march

do you find out online or snail mail

Well I'm going to be looking desperately in my mail for those NYU invitations come mid-march.

The invitations have no bearing whatsoever on whether or not you are accepted. NYU sends those to every applicant, regardless of acceptance status. The invitations mean nothing. You have to wait until April to get a letter of any significance, sorry.

No bearing whatsoever? Are you sure? I was looking back at last year's 2010 thread, and not every applicant got an invite; the consensus was that the "saturday/sunday in the park" invites were a good sign.

I guess we'll have to wait and see then

It is not true that those invitations are sent to all applicants. My daughter was accepted for last year's freshman class and she did not get an invitation.

Okay, so maybe they don't send them to everyone (visitation status varies from student to student) but they DO NOT gauge whether or not you are accepted. People read too much into the materials sent out by the school.

I do believe that invitations to Saturday in the Sqaure or similar programs mean that you are in. Not getting one, however, does not mean that you will not be accepted.

collegecheck is right...look at the people who got the invites last year.. they got in. but if you don't get it, it doesn't mean you're rejected.

Collegecheck, I believe you are right. Not getting one doesn't mean you're not in, but getting one is a BIG HINT! Don't those events occur in April? Why would they send out invites to something that occurs after acceptances are final to people who were not accepted??

Why wouldn't they send it to everyone accepted? does it have to do with where you live?

they supposedly send it to the top applicants...

seashoresideshow, you're wrong. People who are invited to Saturday in the Square or other similar events, are accepted applicants. They will receive those invitations before they receive their official acceptance but everyone who receives one will be receiving an acceptance package around April 1.

matth, when do you think NYU will begin mailing these invitations?

diehldun, I don't know exactly but a quick search showed that people started to receive them around March 11 last year. Good luck!

jesus!!!!!!!!
