Those are the generic ECS.
My main passion is music. My schools music program travels around the United States and Internationally every spring and have won nearly every competition.

-1st Alto Sax In Symphonic Band.
-Lead ALTo in HOnors Wind Ensemble
-Lead Alto in Pep Band

-Lead Alto in All District Band
-Lead Alto in PIT Band
-Audtion Pending, but most likely 1st Chair in All County Jazz Ensemble.
-I also have recieved nearly flawless scores on all of my judged nyssma performaces, including a 96 on my All State Jazz peice.

-I also will submit a supplemental CD that I had professionally recorded of me playing my all state Jazz peice.

-I also play piano and guitar privately.
-I have studied under Arlene Szabo for 10 years.
-I also have become a member of the National Piano Guild of America at the National and State Levels.
-I also was asked to submit a recording of my playing for a recital at Carnegie Hall.

-Guitar I have taught Myself, but have achieved relative mastery.
- I compose and write original music.
- I also write music for local musicians.

-I am also very involved with the community. In addition to various service projects with Club Interact,Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society, and the Tri M music Honor Society, I personally run a toy drive for less fortunate children during the holidays. I do this by going around to local orginizations and people and asking for donations.

Lastly I have played Soccer Since Age 4.

I was a starter on JV Soccer in 8th and 9th Grade

3 Year Starter on Varsity

Academic All County

Played for the Division 1 Sachem Golden Eagles

and I played 3 Age groups up on the Division 2 Manorville Vipers.

-So that is basically it. I hope that my passion for music is reiterated througout my application and really serves as a "hook." My essay really conveys my musical interests and really unifies my application. Im just really worried and hoping that this can make up for my ACT Score.

I believe Princeton requires 3 SAT II's. Unless the ACT some how makes up for that. Princeton does not superscore the ACT. I'm not sure how music affects the admissions process. Are you in some way, shape, or form being "recruited"?

ACT does not make up for SAT II. You'd better take it in January. As for ACT superscoring, though I have no idea, I'd like to say yes they do.

To be qutie frank, at first when I looked at your stats I was like theres no way in hell you're getting in without a serious hook. But your music stuff is extremely impressive. Make sure the admissions officers know how good you are with your music and how it is a huge passion of yours. Possibly even write an essay about it. I feel that a carefully constructed application + the adcom's "talent supervisor's" enthusiasm could quite easily result in admission.

Thanks Alot.
I plan on sending a supplemental CD of the peice I played for All State Jazz.
Now In addiotion to My Act, I have to send in 3 Sat II's?

I agree with FredFred....the 690 on the US History SAT II is not that impressive, and neither is the 29 on the ACT. Your musical talents might get you in though...IF Princeton's orchestra needs an alto sax. Try to polish your essays as much as possible, and get recs from teachers who know you well and who are strong writers themselves. You also need to take two other SAT IIs ASAP.

I scored a 99 at all-state and didn't get in :( i never sent a cd in though

Have you been recruited?

"Im a White Middle class student from an average high school on Long Island.

Not really, since us Long Islanders actually have it the worst; Long Island is the most competitive region in the most competitive state of New York, so you, like myself, will be up against the most competitive students in the nation first, before you are compared nationally, and then ultimately internationally--that is if the colleges really do have regional biases, as many have theorized.

Furthermore, many feel being middle class is a disadvantage, since the very rich and the poor have the advantages these days due to the attraction to the extremes, assuming same statistical marks of course.

But at least you're white.

He was kidding, sat123. He was being sarcastic.

First generation will probably help you but hopefully you've applied to safety schools. I hope you're kidding on your scores

yea my whole post is sarcastic If you guys havent picked up on that yet haha
