'she's too dumb to be on that site anyway"

wow, you're mom is over doing it there....
sorry, hope you feel better. :)

'she's too dumb to be on that site anyway"

wow, you're mom is over doing it there....

^ haha thanks, later my mom said she was proud of me (thanks dad for intervening ;D)

LOL.....

10chr

wow, your mom is the perfect image of the stereotypical asian parent (no offense)

^ she came from a really rigid family. a lot of her siblings and herself went to some of the top national universities in Korea.

my dad, though the same, knows how it feels to be under severe pressure, so he's more relaxed on me..

Say that if you go on this site, you're guaranteed a 2500 SAT. No more questions asked...

2500? Hope you're being sarcastic..

My parents make fun of me, but they are jealous that they didn't have this source growing up. :)

Lawl a few days ago my boyfriend was like, "GUESS WHAT MY DAD TOLD ME EARLIER! He was like, 'I was researching med programs and I ended up on this site... collegerestricted or something...' and I was like, 'collegeconfidential?' and he was like 'yeah! I found someone whose son got into PLME and they seemed Indian so I sent her an email.'"

Lately I have been online more then usual and my parents, I mean entire family has taken it a habit to spy on me now. Supposedly I am now in danger of being kidnapped and trafficked to Western Europe where I shall remain until I am of no use to pedophiles. My family needs to back off. They now even hide my laptop. WTH!!! In todays world can't a kid be online for more then 2 hours without being in danger of being raped (According to my mother).

How do you explain internet culture to parents who aren't part of it ...

Ho-hum.

My parents know way more about internet culture than they should. My mom and sister are talking about Blowjob Girl right now... and earlier my mom sent my sister and me a video called 'Lol Together' that was a lolcats-based takeoff on 'Come Together'... >__>

My parents are on the internet more than I am.

They saw me on here like once and they were like... I wish I had that when I was a kid. My response was "You would've been too stoned to care." They ask me every once in a while if I'm getting good advice from that "weird college site"

My parents can barely get on the internet or use anything on it.

My parents are okay with the internet...actually, it's probably only a matter of time until they stumble across CC. My mom spends her lunch hour at work finding out things about college admissions I already know...yeah.

My dad likes me to use this site....he doesn't have to listen to me talk about colleges. I can do it here instead!!!

^Ha, my parents would probably feel that way to, if they knew about the site...the other night I said like one thing about the common app to my dad and he said "Do we have to hear about this for the next year now?"

I just read the first two posts but I can't believe she thinks this site's a waste! My parents would way rather me be on a site about school and academics and college than others like MySpace, even though they don't mind that at all.

^ yeah
cc isn't a complete waste of time, although it is time consuming.
i feel more productive then playing some online game

I don't think that I've ever used this site for anything useful before. Almost all my posts are in the cafe (but my first few visits were restricted to the SAT prep forum). Now that I'm in college, I only come here when there's nothing to do on facebook, and when I've already posted on my blog.
My parents used to get on my case a lot before, but now since I'm not as frequently on this site as I used to be, they stopped.
