You never noticed the 60 second rule before? It's to prevent spamming. I just find it annoying.

they should make it like 30 seconds, or something reasonable.

(again there goes the 60 seconds rule)

forgot that there was audio, so my speakers were off. I kept wondering why I couldn't advance to the next page. Then I decided to start playing iTunes and turned my speakers on, and there was this voice! It freaked me out.

LOL qtip! Your story is hilarious :p

Trisa - don't worry, I was just as confused when people started mentioning it. If you're Class of 2009, just go to the Princeton website for our year and click on the Practicalities section. The info about AlcoholEDU and the link should come up.

Legend - I'm not sure if every student can take it, but since it's an independent company, I assume they have a webpage and you can just sign up for it. Try googling "AlcoholEDU".

Why would you WANT to take this course if it's not required?

Legend, you can take my final test for me!

lol somebody here says they didnt do it. she finished her first year at princeton, didnt get any nasty messages. im not gonna try that though, lol.

I probably need it, since I couldn't test out of the chapter, and I probably won't pass the final test (unless I google hahaha) but I didn't pay attention to the lessons and I'm not about to replay anything.

so like everyone's started/finished with it????
no one's procrastinating???

im procrastinating.

I'm procrastinating too... as always...

Does every university require this? Or is this just for us tigers?
I think the test should be taken at least after freshman year. By that time we should know all there is to know about alcohol...

Is there really so much drinking at Princeton that they have to make you take a course on alcohol?

A lot of people at Princeton do drink. Last year, my sister's roommate had to go to the hospital for alcohol poisoning.

Operating on the not-necessarily-true assumption that being a perfect straightedge in high school probably increases your GPA and therefore your Princeton admissions chances, I think they're a little worried about having a significant number of incoming freshmen who are totally naive. Not only totally naive, but really really really wanting to party, having repressed the urge for four years. In that light, AlcoholEdu makes a lot of sense, and is good PR to boot. Of course, that description probably wouldn't fit any of you, judging from some of the threads I've seen ;-)

Also, I'm going to guess that there are at least as many people who don't drink at all as there are ones who get absolutely trashed every weekend -- probably more.

absolutely trashed? raises hand

Haha
I have a case of the "my-parents-always-made-alcohol-available-to-me-ever-since-I-was-four-so-alcohol-lost-its-appeal" syndrome.
I want to take that bartending class though, but they teach with colored water.

oh, so you're like a european, lol.

Am I? Because the europeans on this board seem to want to start their own irish pub on campus and drink 24 beers in a day...
:p

haha it already exists- the alchemist and barrister.

ur more like an italian, haha.

Yeah...I'm not European, but I'm totally for that Irish pub thing. I want to be a "beer-ista"

pubs are great! they're not about getting "completely trashed", they're just really fun.
