Anyway just a random rant/sad story.

this was kinda announced monday lol.

i’m really sad it’s closing, too. borders has been the go-to bookstore for me, with extremely reliable staff and i could ALWAYS count on it to have books i liked. heck, it even has/had a coffee shop in it. i’m definitly going to miss the place :/

Lol really? My friend said I was late. Now I get it.

Aww man! Borders was my favorite place to drink coffee and surf amazon.

I guess I have to go to barns and noble now :(

I’m sad too; probably going to cry my eyes out tomorrow :(

I feel like we’re losing a lot of the big box stores from a decade ago. Blockbuster (not a store, but still) seems to have vanished here, too. Our Circuit City building is still empty, just sitting there.

The sad part is 11,000 people are losing their jobs plus the publishing companies are going to have to layoff a bunch of people because apparently a lot of the companies have specific people that work only with borders and because losing business from the second largest bookseller means less books and less money.

Maybe you guys should stop buying those kindles/nooks/e-books. My dad works for the New York Times, and he’s probably going to be unemployed within a few years because of those things…

I know!!! ugh!
All the good stores have been closing, and not BORDERS! I love that place because it gives huger discounts than in Barnes and Noble. Well, i am going to go to get books that i want on Saturday…:(

Borders was my favorite place to buy books.

Blockbuster filed Chapter 11 (Bankruptcy).

eReaders are taking over the market. Market analysts were predicting Border’s demise months ago. Now there are doing it to B&N. The only thing that might save B&N is the Nook. eReaders are books of today. I think the reason why bookstores are closing since people have no room for books anymore. Why carry your favorite 5 books around with you to a vacation, when you can have hundreds on your eReader?

Shame…shame…shame…

Watch out for the goats; they bite.

^Umm what…?

People are so emotional on this site…

You said “barns” instead of “Barnes.”

We have Amazon still :)

It won’t go away any time soon as well :)

Amazon > Borders

Amazon Customer Service > Borders Customer Service

Amazon is also much cheaper, since they have alot of sales.

Maybe, but in my opinion nothing beats the experience of going to a physical bookstore, grabbing a physical book and sitting down and reading it in that environment. It had more of a human touch.

^ I agree, but we have Barnes and Noble for that. But if you want to order from the internet, Amazon is the cheapest and best option for that because of the amazing customer service they have.

Borders was never as big as Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

Wait, what day is the last day???
