do you know the number of applicants they’ll be admitting off the wait-list?

uncrosses fingers

I didn’t get in…

dont think anybody got in off the waitlist:

In a situation remarkably similar to last year, we find ourselves with 212
deposited students against our goal of 200 entering first year students.
Given that we admitted 50 fewer students this year to avoid over-enrolling
(and that many colleges experienced a decrease in their yield,) the small
increase in our yield of admitted students was a pleasant surprise and, I
believe, a tribute to the strength of Harvey Mudd in communicating the
advantages of our education. Last year we experienced the largest “summer
melt” the college has experienced at 12 students. With a similar melt
this year, we would find ourselves with a class of 200. Given the
uncertainty of the economy this year and increased waitlist action, we
could see a larger melt than 12 which would leave us with a class slightly
under 200, but given the larger than anticipated demand for housing this
year, we have decided that a class this size would be also be acceptable.
Therefore, we will be releasing our waitlisted students.

edit- sad 1000th post

haha no kidding.

i’m still a fan of mudd though, and extremely excited about college!

Well, with such a big freshman class accepting for 09, there’s not much room for the transfers… Congrats to the ONE transfer student accepted…s/he must (should) feel really good about now! Really tough comp & my bf didn’t quite make it but it feels less harsh when only one person was accepted lol
