is there anyone out there whose list is fewer than five schools? there's only one school that i've found (so far?) that i really truly like and want to attend. there are two other schools on my list; one that has a few unfavorable things about it, and the other i've just gotten a not-so-good impression of from various things i've read (i'll be visiting in a few weeks).

i feel like there's a/there are school(s) out there that i just haven't considered for one reason or another...or that there are just no schools out there that meet my criteria. if i don't get into my first choice, i want to have a good, solid saftey that i'll be happy at. it seems like every school that's been suggested to me just hasn't been a good fit for me (no offence, i fully appreciate everyone's efforts, thanks!)

does anyone else have this problem? or any suggestions?

I've got like 5 schools that are all target/reach, and 1 safety that I don't even know if I'm applying to yet. All other suggested safeties, I'm just like "eh" about. And I've been suggested a lot.

I can't help you, because I can't help myself.

I did just finish my common app though, and I'm psyched.

I would have about 5 schools if fin. aid didn't play in (I have 3 in-state publics which would be pretty shocking if I didn't get in). So I understand. I've had milions of schools that everyone has said I'd love, but there's always been something wrong. If I'm going to spend 4 years somewhere, I don't want to have to transfer because it wasn't the best choice, which is why my list is highly selective (not the schools, but I've extensively researched every single one and it took a lot more than a name to get on my list), so I understand your situation.

my list started off being 12 schools long but after research and visits, its down to 3 schools all which ive applied to and ive been accepted to 2 of them, although its not really much of a battle for my first choice

and for celebrian: umm im sorry about pushing ohio u once again, but if your looking for good fin. aid then check out some of the urm scholarships that ou is offering. They are going all out to recruit decent urm's and the scholarships and things arent all that competitive. Their engineering school offers summer programs for ppl interested in engineering and technology (summers of either your junior year or senior year after your accepted). These summer programs give you a small scholarship commitment, a few credits, you meet students and faculty and its just a fun experience also if you go senior year after your accepted they give you a small stipend every quarter of freshman year and you have some kind of learning community type thing but you dont live together. I think they have similar programs in other sciences. They are really making a push to be known in science and engineering.
