I am a college drop-out. I finished my first year at a small LAC and dropped out due to some very complicated reasons (mainly financial). I know that if Harvard had transfer student program I have to apply as a transfer. But now Harvard has closed its transfer program and only takes freshman applicants.

Is that possible for me to apply with a whole year's college credits? I have gone through something very special and have got decent scores (and even high GPA during my first year at colllege) so I think I might have a chance should I apply.

I am planning to change my major so more than half of my college credits will not be useful anymore, thus making me not eligible to apply as a transfer student to anywhere anymore. Can I apply to other schools as a freshman also? I really want to start all over again.

I believe that once you have enrolled at a college and taken classes there, you can no longer apply to Harvard as a freshmen and must instead apply as a transfer. And since Harvard has stopped accepting transfer applications indefinitely, I’m afraid there’s probably no luck. I mean, you can call the Harvard admissions office and ask, but I have a hunch that the answer will be “no.”

LHVD, did you enroll at the college, or did you take classes there? I applied with college courses, and it was fine, as long as I wasn’t enrolled in the college. Perhaps you could apply to other places, and I’d advise you to call them directly (or email) and speak with them. If you have a special circumstance and explain everything, maybe they might let you. Good luck~!
