I knew UCB was right when:

Yesterday I visited Berkeley for the first time in my entire life, despite living just south of SF.

I knew it was right for me when within the first few seconds on Telegraph, a crazy homeless man approached me and said, "UC Berkeley - Great school - Great sex."

hahaha. I really hope I get in....not for the quote above, but I can't believe how much I loved it there.

Sather Tower is enormous and awe-inspiring. The food was excellent, the people were surprisingly extremely nice, and Telegraph.....I've never seen anything like that at any university. I was blown away. Initially I wanted Berkeley, but would've been just as happy with Davis. Now, there's nowhere else I want to be other than Berkeley.

lol just thought I'd briefly share that with you guys since over the past few months we've all gotten to know each other and share our experiences a little bit.

thats a lovely and romantic story the hobo shared with you.

it sounds great, im planning a trip up there to visit some cousins and visit the campus, get a feel for it.

dont you love when your dream school is actually perfect for you? so exciting.

I once had a homeless guy come up to me and recite poetry about how “ravishing” I was when I was at a party in Berkeley. He was very funny, and surprisingly well spoken for someone who wears slinkys on his arms and 5-6 skirts.

HAHAHA lmao. Omg thats great. Impressive showing for such a scantily dressed homeless guy.

@ jane: Yeah, I agree, it’s really exciting. I’m soooo in love with Berkeley now. I even bought a shirt…better not be jinxing myself.

I was by people’s park and this homeless lady took a dump on the sidewalk. she looked at me and said “um you never took a **** before?”

^ and with that, the magic stops. Ha ha ha.

I wish berkeley’s weather was better though. I have a midterm today and i’m going to have to walk 25 minutes in the rain.

Thanks to the tap program, I am going to Berkeley next week for a free class. It’ll be my first time visiting there, even though I live 1 hour away.

I have a lot of friends who attend Cal and I’ve been up there plenty of times and have attended a class, so the “magic” as it were, has worn off for the most part, hahahaha. But I do still remember my first time there as a sophmore in HS - it was CalDay and I was conducting interviews with astronomy undergrad and grad students (back when I wanted to be an astronomer, haha). Lots of people and lots of excitement and the people at the astro department were all super nice and really welcoming. I had gone back for a photography assignment that same year and I was really blown away by the architecture of the psych building and library. And the t-rex, can’t forget the t-rex.

Unlike you, though emil, I’m still pretty much on the fence between UCLA and Cal. Let’s hope that I even get to the point where i have to make that choice.

And everyone thinking about Cal should definitely try and attend a CalDay. I think it’s around April, can’t remember, but it’s a great opportunity to talk to students and faculty.

Yeah it’s on April 17th. I’m definitely going. I really hope to bring my family along and get a more complete vibe and understanding of the campus and culture.

I wish CalDay was after April 30, that way if I don’t get into CAL, I wouldn’t have drove 6 hours up there for nothin’ and requested a couple days off from work.

I’m looking at [A Dozen Secret Study Sites at UC Berkeley](A Dozen Secret Study Sites at UC Berkeley) and GOSH I really, really want to get accepted. I’m going to shed tears of absolute happiness if I do lol :)

UCB is soooo amazingggggg, damn i want it soooooo baddddd, you guys dont even knoww

Hey, that was a great link, @ItsMe213! I hope I get to study there!

I knew UCB was right when I feared their academic challenges. Nom nom knowledge, bring it on! Please? Q.Q

@ CalBearGuy: I know man, me too!!! I am sooo sick of community college. I’m literally just cruising through this semester with homework maybe one night a week. It’s extremely boring. I can’t wait for April 30. But your TAP, if I remember correctly, so you should be fine lol!
