I’m going ED, for sure.

My daughter felt the same way. She graduated in 2009 and had a wonderful four years at Barnard.

I’m applying to Barnard next year as well, but RD. Even though it’s not my first choice right now, that’s liable to change once I actually visit :)

I am definitely applying next year RD to Barnard. It’s my first choice but I’m really going to have to work really hard! I cannot slack in senior year!

I plan on applying as well!

I’ll definitely be applying! I’ve been in love with Barnard for years now.

i’m applying next year! i hope they’ll accept me! is anyone applying ED?

all you EDers probably have great stats :[ so much competition…

i hope that you’ll all go to the school that will make you the most happy ;)

good luck to all of us!! :)

unrelated question… well sort of. is barnard generally harder or easier to get into than wellesley?

I would say they’re comparable, but since Barnard has a lower admit rate it might actually be slightly harder.

Wellesley generally has had higher SAT’s and Barnard a higher GPA, but the requirements are comparable.

I agree with mythmom. Barnard is statistically more difficult – lower admit rate overall – but I think that Barnard is more holistic in its admissions practice, and so it is probably not at all uncommon for women to be turned down at Wellesley but accepted to Barnard… as well as the other way around – and of course many who choose to apply and are accepted to both. (My own d. had scheduled an interview at Wellesley her senior year, but there was a huge rain storm when she was visiting Boston, so she ended up cancelling her interview and scheduled visits to both Wellesley and Brandeis, and never really followed up or had much interest after that. So she didn’t end up applying to Wellesley. I don’t think Wellesley would have been a good fit for her in any case).

I might apply too… I can handle the all-girls thing. I go to an alll girls high school (;
