i know my fate is decided but...

do i have a chance? I have been rejected from washu, northwestern and GW

SAT: 670v, 650m, 660 w 11 essay
GPA: 91 (15pt increase from 9th to 12th)
Courses: Full IB Diploma
ECs: Editor in Chief of HS newspaper, President of Debate Club, President of Model Congress, Vice President of BBG chapter, Ski Club, Cello (9-11)

I visted and attended info sessions

Girl From LI and go to a suburban hs and am the only one who applied from my school

Yeah I think you got a great chance!! Impressive courses and ECs. I think the only thing that would hurt you would be your test scores. I know Emory puts a lot of emphasis on essays. I got in with a 4.0/2040, so you never know.

You should have definitely gotten into George Washington..

Emory loves it when people visit so I think you've got a shot, good luck!

roberto- from what i have heard GW admissions were extremely bizarre this year, i have heard of people getting in with bs and 1200s but maybe my lack of interest to GW counted

any other opinions?

You have a chance. I'm surprised you got rejected from GW. I've been rejected from WashU and Northwestern too. :(

I think Emory is probabley a "Match" school for you. Your SAT scores are in the mid range (a little low in it, but still at least higher than 25% of admits), and as long as your GPA and course selection is strong, mid range is quite good enough! Your ECs show a lot of leadership which is great and your demonstrated interest helps, too. If essays and recommendations are also very strong, I think you have a good shot. Goood Luck!

i got rejected from northwestern as well, but got accepted to Emory on friday since i live in the suburbs of a-town. You definitely have a chance, but all i can say is that you never know...
