I know that it's late but....

I didn't realize that so many great summer programs have such early deadlines!!
Most of the ones that I looked for (science researching programs) had their deadlines early Febuary or January.
I don't want to waste my summer and I want to do an intense researching program regarding chemistry (biochemistry)/ medical science.

I looked around tons of threads in this site,
and I made a list of programs that seemed interesting:
-High School Summer Science Research Program
-Clark Scholars Program
-High School Science Program (in Michigan)
-Secondary Student Training Program (SSTP)
-Student Science Training Program (SSTP)
-biotechnology summer camp in Stony Brook University
-Independent High School Research Program (well, I don't think this is exactly a program) in Stony Brook University
-UC Davis Young Scholars Program
-UCSB research mentorship
-Coriell Institute for Medical Research
-COSMOS
-Masonic Medical Research Lab
-governor's school (this seemed like a prestigious program--according to people here--what is it exactly??)

Anyways,
this is my list, and they all have later deadlines so I can still apply for them

I live in New York and I'm an international student (I don't have US citizenship or green card)--this pretty much narrowed my choices down alot.
I wanted to do somewhere near my home so I can commute and do other things too
but the ones that I searched for, their deadlines already passed, like the Simons Stony Brook Research program.

I was considering to find a research internship opportunity in Stony brook or Columbia Univeristy (I'm in Columbia Science honors Program now) but I just want to make sure that I have another internship/research opportunity if I don't find that opportunity.

Which ones from the list would you recommend?
Which ones are most prestigious and worth going to?

bump....anyone??

For the Clark Scholars Program, do you need US citizenship or the green card? And is there an age limit? What if you are an international student studying in America and graduating in 2010 but is about a year or two older than your peers? Would you be not able to apply?
