I've been rejected from a summer program and after I received the letter of rejection, I tried to scramble to find something else to do over summer. Unfortunately there's not many good summer programs that will accept apps anymore. So... I don't think I'll be doing much the summer of 07...

What would you say is a good way to spend all this time? I wanna do something worthwhile. Does volunteering look just as good on college apps than, say, Harvard ssp?

Oh yeah if you know of any programs that still accept apps feel free to pm me hint hint

Volunteering is good on any application. I guess its not as good as Harvard ssp, but it is still good. Most colleges look for community service anyway.

u chicago's summer app isn't due til like, mid may, northwestern just extended their deadline, and stanford still has 5 days...those are if you don't mind pay-for-play.

A few summers ago I volunteered at my local nature center, and it was amazing. I don't know how it would look on an application, but I did get community service hours for doing it. It was a blast too. (Except for cleaning out the cages in the infirmary.)

I think JSA is still open...BU I think might be...but I think JSA still has spots. Call the organization and see which campuses are open. Go to www.jsa.org I think. Or search on google for the site and find the 1800 number to call.
