okay, so for the past couple of months ive been looking at a charity and id really like to do something, to help make a difference in ones life that is suffering from ALS (its what the charity donates its money to).

i know this sounds ridiculous, but does anyone know any way that i can get some kind of celebrity to an event that i may hold?

i want to hold an event and like 300 people would be going and all the money would be going to the foundation.

Send letters to agents. The non-profit that I'm on the board of had a large fundraiser this year and we sent letters to celebrities' agents to get an emcee and celebrity judges. It helps if you live somewhere with a large TV/movie culture.

Thanks for raising money for ALS. My grandmother suffered with ALS for a long time and died of it, and I know how heartbreaking it is. There are very few answers for people who have it. It's a very worthy cause.

Might be very, very difficult. A celebrity doesn't show up to chill in a 300 person event. Might also cost money. How about having something cheap and not as difficult to find like: local band, a DJ, or a sweet Elementary school choir...?

Local politicians might come if you ask...

i live in miami, so thats a plus for living in a town with movie culture.

do you know by any chance how to get adresses or e-mail's of the agents?

Gryffon, people in my town wouldn't really go to an event that has just a local band or something. if we got a celebrity of some sort to perform, my whole town would go.

It's possible. I mean, my middle school got Bruce Springsteen at one event. Try looking up famous people who are from your hometown?

I really have no idea how to get addresses, because there were other people on my non-profit who had agent connections (friends, parents, etc.) who did most of that part. I guess I would try googling?

The tip about getting local/hometown celebs is great. You will have much better luck that way.
