Fundraising $2000.0 for summer program..Any tips??

I need $2000 for a summer program by early june (preferably may 28)
(ughh i am soo upset about it right now, but ill stay on task :p )
any tips on how to get started?
i live in a city--- world headquarters of johnson&johnson, robert wood johnson university hospital, bristol-myers squibb....should i reach out to these bigger busineses (yes hospitals are businesses nowadays :p ) or stick with local things like mcdonalds, small family restaurants?

also how should i freaking approach people/businesses? lol
should i come with a poster presentation?

anyone else fund-raised before?

also the program is a business program at a rather prestigious business school (Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan)

Thanks

I haven’t but as far as I’ve heard, it’s not THAT bad.

We all know politicians are corrupt/evil/crocked, so if you know a local mayor/sheriff or something, try calling them up or going to their office presenting what you’re doing and how. Act like you give a dam about their campaign and what not

Also, try a local booster club or rotary club. Or the Lion’s Club. There are lots of smaller organizations that will assist you. Try looking through your middle school or elementary as well as your current school’s trophy case and you may find a plaque about winners of some scholarship. Usually it’ll give you the name of an organization which you can look up.

Try getting your school student council or other (smaller) service clubs to give you a bail out. Especially if your an active member.

Offer them publicity if they help you (HOW you will do this, and how you’ll bring this up in a conversation with the guys depends on your overal street smarts -.-).
Look up some marketing director’s number or public relations and wait for them outside the company (well, no, don’t) or cal them up explaining what you have to offer, again, offer publicity. Remember, doctors won’t really like a business program as much as a project manager or accounting director would.

What business program is it by the way? It could give a sway to things if its some organization. Plus, I’ve been down on my look searching for suitable business programs.

thank you!!
luckily, i am starting with asking distant family…they have money
if i dont raise enough from them (worst case scenario) then i will begin to reach out to rotary, local firms.

its called LEAD Summer Business Institute.

LOL i am often told that i lack street smarts -_-
