anything else that could help me:
My dad is Puerto Rican, so I can put hispanic down on my forms. But I'm not bilingual and it's not like I have dual citizenship anywhere so I'm not sure if this matters.

Dual citizenship doesn’t really matter. I have EU and US Dual Citizenship, but it won’t help me whatsoever. However, being half hispanic will help you (I think you have to put mixed though).

With your URM hook and GPA, you have a pretty good shot. SATs are a bit low, but they’re counterbalanced by the URM thing in my opinion. Which cornell college are you applying to?

sorry but rank 13 will really hurt your chances. Nah JK your ECs and awards are good. GPA is good and sats are average. I would say good shot

thanks for responding you guys!
I’m applying to the college of arts and sciences. At this point, I’m thinking I want to major in English.

Well, keep in mind that A & S is the hardest school to get into and average SAT scores for that college are much higher than the average for cornell overall.
However, I stand by my previous statement where you have a decent shot.

I wouldn’t worry about the US History score, btw, they don’t consider SAT subjects nearly as much as your actual SAT.

yay for IB!

boo to the math studies though… are you partial? or a diploma candidate?

Also, I think you have a fairly decent shot. Like everyone else has said, SAT’s kind of average, however, gpa and Ec’s seem decent. However, keep in mind that applying to any Ivy is a gamble, no one’s surely in or surely rejected as long as you’re in that “competitive” pool.

Be sure to have amazing essays, though.
