I love U Penn! But, do I have a Chance?

Hello! I've been reading these threads for a while, and was wondering what my chances might be for Wharton. I'm absolutely in love with Business (and I really like the concentration in Marketing, it's right up my alley!). I think I'll apply to Wharton ED for the class of 2012, and I might try to get a dual degree in English (this is my second love, after business). So, chance me if you feel like it : )

White, Female
Small Public Prep School, AZ. Sends top decile of class to mostly the claremont colleges, or non-ivy colleges like uchicago, rose hulman, rochester, etc. Alot of our graduates just go to ASU with a full ride.

GPA: 3.998 UW, my school doesn't weight but all Honors courses (my school doesn't have AP/IB)
Rank: 1 or 2 out of 55... our school is small.

-Speech and Debate (11-12) Varsity Debate Captain 12.. I really regret not joining until 11th grade, but I'm determined to make the best of it!

Awards:
-Every year, I get departmental awards from our school in Math/Science, Humanities, the Arts, etc.
-NFL All American (Speech and Debate Award)
-Lots of speech and debate awards: won a lot of novice LD tournaments (including the ASU tournament), got 3rd at state in LD and Oratory, and 4th in Extemp. I also got 7th (Speaker points) at Harvard in JV LD, and got to double-octos. Oh, and our team is the state champion team for 1-3A in AZ, which is pretty cool ; )

So, anything I need to work on? I'm not sure if I should retake the SAT/ACT to up the scores a bit, especially considering the awful 700 math. Will I need to retake the SAT I, if my Math SAT II is 800? (For some reason I'm better at advanced math than basic math!). Also, if I try to get a dual-degree, is that suicidal? Thanks for your help in advance!

If you really love UPenn, apply early. If you apply early, your chances are as good as any. You have an awesome GPA however your SAT is "inflated" by the writing. I would certainly retake if you feel you can do better. Your ECs are pretty good, just try to focus on one EC in the essay rather than the whole list. If you don't retake the SAT make sure you get no less than 770 on Math IIC. This is Wharton and they need high math scores.

Thanks FredFredBurger... Anyone else want to chance me?

218 views... and one reply!! Bump!!

you definitely do have a chance at getting in. The only thing I would say to you is that since ur applying to wharton, try and get your sat math up to 760 above because they really look at that it seems. A lot of the other people who got in had really high math scores.

just another bump ; )

Really, don't bother. These are very far from accurate and don't help you at all. Just apply to Penn and hope for the best.
