While their request might have seemed brutal, don’t be mad at your parents. The Asian tax (or tariff) has been discussed extensively and backed up by statistical numbers in a study by Princeton. Your folks were just trying to increase your odds.

As an Asian Ametican family, my kid definitely felt this extra baggage of getting top test scores. The testing companies actually encourage the arms race with score choice and virtually no limit on the number of times the tests can be taken.
