Okay so I have made decent grades in high school so far but I am worried about my grades this year. Currently I am a Junior residing in North Carolina and I am also a white male if that matters.
Unweighted is 4.67
Weighted is 3.98
I am 29 out of 540 in my class
I have only taken the SAT once without studying and my score was horrible: 1150 (I am bad at standardized tests and I know I will do bad on the ACT and I am going to study for the next SAT I take but I know this will be holding me back from colleges due to my bad scores)
I got a 1170 on PSAT if that matters and yes, I know that is a bad score
Freshman year I made all A´s with honors classes and sophomore year I made all A´s as well and took my first AP class (AP World) which was my lowest grade that year (92) This year I am taking 5 AP classes and honors pre-cal and honors chemistry. I have a B in APUSH (86) and it will probably stay like that until the end of the year and I have all A´s in my other classes but they are low A´s such as 92´sand 93´s. My highest grade this year is a 96 in honors chem. And I know my grades will plummet after mid-terms. My school is on a 10 point grading scale by the way.
I really want to go to UNC Chapel Hill and some other options for me are NC State and maybe Davidson or UVA. Anyways I do not think I can get into these types of schools now due to my grades this year and bad standardized test scores? Am I overreacting? What schools should I be looking at given my resumé?
