I just sent a payment to Bowdoin when I meant to send it to Occidental! I applied to Bowdoin through Questbridge so I don't have to pay a fee for them, BUT I JUST DID :( Who should I contact the school or Common App payment services?!?

E-mail their admissions office and copy Questbridge on it. I am sure you'll be able to get your money back. And $60 is a lot of money to many people -- including middle class people like me.

And is there any chance you also qualify for fee waivers at any of the other colleges you're applying to? No reason to use your money on apps if you don't have to.

Call admissions a Bowdoin and see what they can do. If that doesn't work, call your bank and cry. I had to stop payment on a check to an electrical contractor who jerked me around taking three weeks to do a one week job, left with my check saying the job was finished, and found nothing he had done actually worked. I called the bank and told them my story and they stopped payment for no fees. I don't know if they took pity and charged nothing out of kindness or because I'd never stopped payment before.... Anyway, if they charge you it'd probably be less than $50.

However true it may be that $60 dollars is serious, consider that it is absolute pocket change compared to what you are about to pay for school, assuming you don't get a full-ride scholarship

Northstarmom is right -- email admissions and copy Questbridge. Yes, it's a mistake, and a significant amount of $ and worth following up, but no need to beat yourself up. (This doesn't belong in the HUGE,MASSIVE, GIGANTIC mistake category.)
