I made some major gaffes on my application.

Firstly, most of the grades section on my self-reported coursework have been left blank because I didn't have a copy of the transcript with me when I tried finishing it during vacation. Is it too late to make amends?

Secondly, on one of my (first year) ECs I listed an activity as 18 weeks / year, while in fact I found out it was really 12 (I was estimating based on what the coaches told me on how far we were into the season). This is a problem because a captain of that team is also applying, he listed 12. Is it too late to make amends here too? If I send an email asking them for a correction, would it cast doubt on the integrity of the self-reporting of my other EC's (whose yearly schedule I am much more familiar with?)

Don't be so paranoid. Just email them and they'll understand. Stuff like this happens all the time I bet.

Couldn't that just mean that YOU spend 18 weeks/year for that EC? and that person spends 12 weeks only? Not everyone has the same talent for sports or other ECs, some people just needs to spend more time than others

I probably spend 20-30 hours a week working out for cross country just to keep up with people on the varsity team that works out 10-20 hours/week, and I'm still the slowest one on varsity

It probably doesn't make much of a difference, its not as major as lying about your test scores or grades

The other applicant (who applied EA) is a team captain. -_- He is four years, whereas I am one year, so I thought it would be rather strange if they decided to compare applications from the same high school...

So it would be acceptable to list "hours/week" for a varsity sport for a duration beyond the general competition season?

I'm pretty sure its acceptable to to list "hours/week" for a varsity sport for a duration beyond the general competition season

The application asked how much time the APPLICANT spent on that specific EC, not how much time the TEAM spent on the EC.

Stop worrying about how much time someone else put in their application, your application is not about them, it should be all about you and how much time YOU spent doing the ECs, and if you need to spend more or less time on it, then put down how much you truly think you spent doing those things

hope this helps

i think it should be fine for you to have a longer season.
For robotics, i put 40 weeks/year. Even though its technically just a school clue but i spend a lot of time over the summer break for various demonstrations are museums, writing grants , and visiting companies that gave us donations etc. so its okay if i had more weeks than how long school was.
