I Messed Up

Got an email from Quinnipiac less than a week ago when I was admitted saying that there were two errors with my FAFSA application. Apparently, either my dad or I screwed up the social security numbers for both parents. Quinnipiac was the only university out of the five I've been accepted to to inform me of this. They said something along the lines of "fix this and we'll evaluate your application and be able to determine your award for the 2011-2012 school year." I made the corrections and resubmitted FAFSA yesterday.

My question is this. Being that it is so late in the application process, have I been screwed with my aid for the schools that I've already been accepted to?

And I have yet to hear back from Syracuse. Will the fact that my application was edited so late have an impact on the package they give me should I get in?

Don’t know a lot but er if they have told you to correct it, you should do it quickly. And notify each and every school by phone/email about your mistake so they at least know about it… :)

Thanks. I’ll contact the schools.

Stay on top of this. Try and work with the same person in Fin Aid each time (unless you reach someone grumpy – then just try again). Be charming. You are a “kid” and you have made an understandable error – but don’t just cross your fingers and “hope” all is well. Keep after this with each school until you know, for certain, that all is resolved.

^ That sounds like great advice.
