So, I'm working on my BA in Secondary English Education, but since the licensure laws keep changing in Illinois, the program at my school changed too. I was told that I could stay on the old program and still graduate on time, but it looks like my school has literally made it impossible to do so by getting rid of certain courses I'd still need and not providing me a way to substitute those courses.

Because of this, it looks like I'll be stuck at school an extra semester. I've already looked into taken summer courses to try and make up for the changes, but that's not panning out either. However, if I changed to a liberal arts English degree, I can still graduate on time.

My parents are encouraging me to stick with education because it's what I really want, but I feel horrible because they've already taken out so many loans to help me pay for school.

Any advice?
