I must be wicked lame...

I really must love Emory becuase I keep on having dreams about getting in. I applied to 5 schools, and it's the only school that I've actualy dreamt about being accepted to. A couple weeks ago my dream was that the acceptance letter came a month early and it was just sitting in my driveway. Last night my dream consisted of getting a phone call from the dean saying that I was the first people to be accepted for the class of 2011.

I really hope this isn't getting my hopes up too much...

i keep on having wicked dreams that Emory didn't receive my nov SAT scores and december ACT score. I'm really nervous that they didn't because I applied EDII and i didn't use rush ( i ordered on collegeboard on 12/31). I tried calling them last week, but they aren't answering my calls.......shoooot!

wicked reminds me of harry potter and that alone makes it more lame than having dreams of getting into emory lol.

Ha Ha funny because that's the exact same thing I was thinking of. All I can say to you all is: GOOD LUCK

haha, there's nothing lame about "wicked." it must be a Maine thing or something, becuase no one else seems to use it.

New Englanders...
- "wicked"
- "soda"
- "hah-vard"

all things that Rory Gilmore would say.

What's wrong with using "soda"?

Personally, I think "pop" sounds better. I think "soda" is archaic -- it sounds like something you would order at a local burger joint in the 1950s.

Ohman, I take it you enjoyed your visit to Emory? I didn't see your post after you got back.

i dont think i've ever heard anyone say pop before, its always been soda im from philadelphia where do people say pop?

the midwest and some other areas as well, evidently this includes parts of upstate new york

http://www.popvssoda.com/images/bigdrawn.gif

movinmom: yes! I loveddddddddddddddd it! My trip went really well. It was great to see Atlanta and actual diversity, not to mention patches of green grass. Honestly, I'm sick of snow! But I've basically decided that Emory is without a doubt the perfect fit for me... Now all I have to worry about is whether or not I'm the perfect fit for Emory..

I guess I'll know in ten days!

::crosses fingers::

ive never heard anyone say pop before its always been soda to me :) (long island is a solid blue)

also wicked is common here too

i dont understand what you mean by "Hah-vard" what does that sound like? long island is close enough to NE...

"soda" is archaic?! hah!? I believe "pop" is outdated.

oh, and I love how people from Georgia get away with using "y'all's" for the word "your."

"Y'all's applications looked really nice!"

and...

for "y'all" for "you"

"Y'all spend too much time on CC. Y'all's lives must be pretty boring!" ^_^

haha just kidding, i'm a CC accident like y'all.

*oops, i meant to write "CC addict" not "CC accident"

wow, i'm pretty cool.

well as a native georgian, born & raised, i think i reserve the right to act as judge on this debate being that many of you will be potentially adopting our slang as of this fall.

the correct term is soda.
thank you.

also, i dont think i use the word y'all that much.

that is all.

I'm from VA, and "y'all" is a staple word in my live, and the life of everyone around here, so I hope people in Georgia use it as much.

"Pop" sounds lame to me, "soda" sounds way better.

lol...it's really funny how this thread changed from a kid talking about his dream to a debate on which form of a word is correct... and it was all because ohman said "wicked" lol

pop all the way

so, anyone else had any wacky dreams about getting into/being rejected from/being deferred from colleges?

I also had a dream I was deferred from WUSTL (which i was) and had to go to an adcom's house to convince her that I'd be a perfect fit for WUSTL. Kind of like in that movie Orange County (is that it?) when the dude has the Stanford people come to his house.

wicked crazy, y'all.
