So I decided to take a nice forum posters advice and start looking for BS/MD OR BS/DO programs to apply to. After seeing I can score pretty good on a practice MCAT (An MCAT test nonetheless, but I know it doesn't count for anything lol), I want to see what programs I can apply to. Now, I know that BS/MD and BS/DO programs are pretty competitive, but I am still in highschool (Junior) and I want to know my options before it's too late to have more than one option. Now personally, I KNOW I am going to become a doctor one way or another, and I don't care what initials come after my name. MD or DO, it doesn't matter to me. So, please, I need lists of BS/MD and BS/DO programs primarily in the Northeastern United States area. I just want to see what my options are given my geographical location.

So far I only know of the Albany Medical College BS/MD program and the Gannon University w/ PCOM BS/DO program. Thanks to anyone else who posts. :)

Um, it’s pretty easy to find them with a little searching. I suggest you buy the MSAR which will have the latest information on these programs. But since I’m bored I’ll name some in the Northeast.

University of Rochester REMS
Brown PLME
Drexel
Penn State
Temple
BU
Pitt
UMDNJ
UConn
Stony Brook
VCU
GW (not exactly northeast, but whatever)

I might add OP, the ones that require MCAT before advancing to the medical school might be more impressed that you can get a 30+ already in high school. Call them up and ask if they accept MCAT scores for their program from hs students.

I’m extremely interested in the Gannon University/PCOM BS/DO program. I’ve heard nothing but really good things about PCOM, and the school itself only intensified my desire to become an Osteopathic Physician (that and the fact that I have a strong interest in OMM).

As for BS/MD programs, it seems only Albany Medical College would be a good fit for me. Eh, we’ll see what happens.
