<p>You can get an additional $4K in Staffords if your parents are denied by PLUS. They can also get the PLUS if denied by getting a co-signer for them. Or you can get a loan with a cosigner for yourself. If neither you nor your parents can get anyone who knows, trusts, likes, supports you to cosign for you, why would anyone who does not know you want to lend you money? </p>
<p>I’m not even going to go into the territory of whether you and your family should be taking out loans for college when you are in such bad financial shape that your parents credit is bad, you can’t afford the school on Staffords that with the $4K extra per year and accumulated interest are going to be well over $30K by the time you graduate.</p>
<p>i would like to apply for a private student loan. i have poor credit. my credit went bad because i was sichk for a long time, and was unable to pay bills. the school i am applying for will not accept federal student loans for the amount i ned to borrow which is 1500.00. how would i beable to obtain a private student loan?</p>
