I’m a Georgia rising senior. I am looking at staying in state for $$$; however, if I can receive significant financial aid/grants I would consider those options as well. Any advice on some schools to apply to that match my stats, and I can go to for under $10,000 per semester? Also, advice is much appreciated? Thanks college confidential users!
I also meant to put under $10,000 per year.
Your general targets are:
- Check if in-state publics are affordable. Run the net price calculators on their web sites.
- Private colleges with good financial aid. However, these tend to be very selective and typically reaches for everyone. Again, run their net price calculators.
- Colleges with full ride merit scholarships. If any are automatic for your stats, they can be safeties, but those which are competitive should be considered reaches.
Georgia offers Hope and Zell Miller so any colleges available in GA I think would be affordable. Can you offer your thoughts on UGA and GA Tech (I know Tech is a reach but hopefully I can increase my chances with a higher SAT score).
